Content Manager Dashboard

The Content Manager Dashboard is crafted to give an overview of issues that are currently affecting the site. There are eleven widgets that make up the content manager dashboard.

  • SEO - This is a measure of how well the user-facing and technical aspects of the site contribute to search engine optimization. SEO has an impact on how your site performs in search rankings and the traffic that the site receives. The SEO score is determined by the cumulative score from four sub-categories: technical, content, user experience and mobile.

  • DCI - This measures the quality and potential impact of your website’s digital presence. You can refer back to the Digital Certainty Index section for a more in-depth explanation.

  • Accessibility - This is a measure of how well a site meets the standards set out in Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2. The accessibility score is determined by the cumulative score from three areas: progress in resolving errors, progress in resolving warnings and the percentage of pages with low error rate.

  • Misspellings - This gives an overview of how many spelling errors occur sitewide and the pages that are affected by the errors.

  • Broken Links - This gives a synopsis of how many broken links occur sitewide. It also gives a number of how many broken links are currently in review mode as well.

  • Content (QA) - This provides a snapshot of the content that is present on the website. It is broken down into six data categories: pages, links, documents, media, JavaScript and CSS. It details the total number of content per category and the number of new content that has been added over the last 30 days.

  • Documents - This allows you to view details of all documents. There are filters that can be applied to narrow down the search: last modified, all document formats, all document types and all documents. The view currently lists 10 documents per page, but can be changed to show more.

  • Pages With Issues - This details the pages that have issues affecting them. It provides detail on the title, URL, SEO score for the page, how many issues that occur on the pages, progress toward resolving all of the page issues, points that can be gained after resolving issues, the number of page views and what level the page occurs at. The widget gives the option of filtering by showing non-canonical pages or hiding non-canonical pages. There is also the ability of searching for a specific page by URL or title.

  • Devices - This shows the type of device being utilized the most by percentage of total visits and the bounce rate percentage. There are three categories: mobile, desktop and tablet. Note: the desktop category includes other devices, such as gaming consoles and smart TVs.

  • Frequency of New Content - This provides details on how often that fresh content is added to the site. New content can help a website to stand out in search engine rankings, especially when content is updated to reflect recent events or trending topics.

  • Images Missing Alt Attributes - This gives an overview on the total number of images on the website and the number of images missing alt attributes. The issue has an impact on SEO, but is also important for Accessibility. Users who rely on screen readers to describe the contents of a page may miss out on important information if a crucial image is missing alt attributes.
